Revelation 6: 12-17, The sixth seal

Revelation 6:12-17 King James Version (KJV)

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Revelation 6: 9-11, The 5th Seal

thumbnail_FullSizeRenderRevelation 6: 9-11 (KJV) 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, Holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Why were the souls under the altar?

Where else in Bible are white robes being given mentioned? Does it have to do with end times? Is it related? If so, how?

How long is a little season?

Why does the text differentiate between “fellowservants” and “brethen”? What’s the difference?

REVELATION 6: 7-8, THE 4TH SEAL

fullsizerender-87226

Revelation 6:7-8(KJV)

7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Did you notice that death is capitalized?

Again power had to be given unto them. They didn’t possess it on their own.

They had power given to them over ONLY a fourth part of the earth and they had four ways to kill and the fourth beast said “come and see”.

Is it a a section of the earth which equals a fourth of the earth OR is it every forth person world wide (the same with the land)?

REVELATION 6: 5-6, THE THIRD SEAL

Revelation 6: 5-6

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

How are you doing? Please leave any prayer requests or praise reports. I love to hear from you.

Revelation 6: 3-4 KJV

3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

In my previous post I pointed out that the rider was ‘given’ a crown, in this section of scripture it mentions that he was ‘given’ power and a great sword. He didn’t arrive with tools needed to fulfill this prophesy, they were ‘given’.

Please leave your comments, ideas, and scripture cross references.

REVELATION 6: 1-2, THE FIRST SEAL

Revelation 6:1-2 KJV

1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

To get this conversation started….

One thing that stands out to me is that he was ‘given’ a crown. He didn’t have it when he arrived.

I have listened to many interpretations of these verses, but I’m curious what your thoughts are. In the comments below, please share your ideas and insights.

LAMB AND LION

fullsizerender-87212

Hi, I hope you’ve had a wonderful week.

I was thinking about how our Savior came to earth as a sacrificial lamb. Not only was he here as a lamb but, the King / the Lion was here as well. He is the ultimate example of meekness, he kept his power under control.

This picture is the lamb of God and the reflection is the lion of Judah.

THE RIOT IN EPHESUS : ACTS 19: 23-41

fullsizerender

Acts 19: 23-41 KJV

23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

39 But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

40 For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
